Where are you located? What are your hours?

Our three branches are located in Burbank, Sherman Oaks and Los Angeles. Our branches and telephone Member Service Center are open Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm PST. We are closed for most federal holidays. You can find addresses and maps to our branches, as well as surcharge free Co-Op Network ATMs here.

How do I create a Virtual Branch ID and Password?

If you’re a new member or first time virtual branch user with a current email address on file, you can create your Virtual Branch ID (VBID) and password by following the steps in this Self-enrollment guide. If you don’t have a current email on file or don’t remember your VBID, call us Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm PST at (818) 562-3400 or (800) 826-6946 toll-free from outside the Los Angeles area or come into a branch and one of our Member Advisors will be happy to assist you. Once your account has been setup, you’ll have 24/7 access.

How do I reset my Virtual Branch ID and/or Password?

If you know your VBID but forgot your password, click on “Forgot Password” and follow the steps in this Self-reset guide. If you don’t remember your VBID and/or Password or want to change either, call us Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm PST at (818) 562-3400 or (800) 826-6946 toll-free from outside the Los Angeles area or come into a branch and one of our Member Advisors will be happy to assist you. You can also change your VBID and password after logging into your account under the “Settings” tab.

How do I create an access code for Stellar Teller?

To receive your 4-digit access code for Stellar Teller, our telephone banking system, stop by a branch or call us Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm PST at (818) 562-3400 or (800) 826-6946 toll-free from outside the Los Angeles area. You can reach the Stellar Teller system directly at (818) 260-0609 or (800) 392-9321 toll-free from outside the Los Angeles area and login using your 5-digit account number and access code. Choose option “3” in the first menu to change your access code.

What are virtual branch services and how do I use them?

Our virtual branch services let you manage your money on your schedule, from anywhere in the world by combining Internet, telephone, ATMs, and other electronic methods to access your accounts – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can check balances, setup account alerts, pay bills, send and receive secure messages, update contact information, transfer funds, and download account activity whenever you want from wherever you are. How do I change my address with the Credit Union?

To ensure the security of your account we require that you submit a signed change of address form to us in writing. You can fax the form to (818) 260-9495; mail it to PO Box 11419, Burbank, CA 91510; scan and send the form with your physical signature through our Virtual Branch secure messaging service, or complete the form in a branch. You can also log into your Virtual Branch account and change your residential address under the “Settings” tab. Any mailing address changes must be done using the change of address form. Changing your address and contact information with SAG-AFTRA, their pension and health plans, or any other Select Employment Group affiliated with SAFCU does not change your address with the credit union.

Why do I have to have a savings account to have a checking account?

A Share Savings account establishes you as an SAFCU member and it gives you a “share” of ownership. Once a member, you can take advantage of other products and services, including a checking account.

What is a Coogan account?

A Coogan account is a specific type of trust account for minors working in the entertainment industry. Under the California Coogan Act (SB 1162), whenever a child actor or athlete works under contract, employers are required to deposit 15% of gross earnings directly into a Coogan Blocked Trust Account that has been set up in the minor’s name. SAFCU specializes in Coogan accounts and is happy to answer any questions you may have. What documents do I need to apply for an auto loan?

An auto loan application can be done in the branch, over the phone, or online. If approved, a signed purchase order may be required. Depending on the vehicle and amount of the loan, we may also require additional documentation and/or income verification via pay stubs or tax documents.

Can I be pre-approved for an auto loan? How long is it good?

Yes. SAFCU regularly offers pre-approvals for qualifying members. Pre-approvals are valid for 90 days. Standard loan application approvals are valid for 30 days.

Can I prepay a loan without penalty?

Yes. SAFCU loans do not have any prepayment penalties.

How are my accounts at the Credit Union insured?

Shares in SAG-AFTRA FCU are protected by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) and have the U.S. government’s full-faith-and-credit guarantee, the same provided to FDIC-insured deposits in banks. Credit union member shares and bank deposits insured by the two funds are covered to at least $250,000, with individual retirement accounts (IRAs) and Keoghs also protected up to $250,000.
